Whimsical Archetypes: Exploring Inner Parts through Art
A playful, hands-on sculpture workshop
Step into a world of imagination, texture, and creative play in this immersive, hands-on art workshop. Using sculptural forms, plaster fabric, paint, and found objects, participants will create a whimsical 3D portrait inspired by an inner archetype or meaningful “part.”
This workshop emphasizes curiosity over analysis and play over perfection. You might find yourself creating a protector, a dreamer, a wild one, a wise figure—or a character that surprises you entirely.
No art experience is needed. The focus is on process, sensory exploration, and symbolic self-expression rather than artistic skill.
Gentle somatic and creative prompts will be offered throughout to support grounding and creative flow, with plenty of flexibility to follow your own pace and instincts. Participants are always invited to adapt, skip, or reinterpret prompts in ways that feel right for them.
You’ll leave with:
A completed (or nearly completed) 3D archetypal sculpture
A deeper appreciation for symbolic self-expression
A tactile, immersive creative experience
A whole lot of texture, plaster dust, and joy
Investment: $125
Early Bird: $100 — available through March 15
All materials are provided. Aprons will be available. Participants are encouraged to wear clothing they don’t mind getting messy!
This workshop is facilitated by Courtney Chandler, MA, ATR-BC, a board-certified art therapist and owner of HeARTS for Hope Therapy. The experience is grounded in trauma-informed, somatic, and expressive arts principles, with an emphasis on choice, curiosity, and nervous system awareness. The space is designed to invite depth without pressure, honoring the natural healing potential of creative expression while allowing each participant to engage at their own pace and comfort level.
Space is limited to 8 participants to ensure personal attention, ample materials, and a supportive creative environment.
