Self-love isn’t something you have to already feel to join this workshop, it’s something you get to gently explore.
This creative, low-pressure experience is for anyone who wants to be kinder to themselves, even if that idea feels awkward, unfamiliar, or a little uncomfortable right now. You don’t have to arrive feeling confident or full of self-praise. Curiosity, openness, and a willingness to try are more than enough.
Together, we’ll use found words from old books and magazines to create a short poem and collage that reflect moments of appreciation, resilience, softness, or care toward yourself, however that looks for you. This isn’t about forcing positivity or pretending everything is great. It’s about noticing small truths, quiet strengths, and gentle reminders that you matter.
We’ll begin with a grounding meditation and light journaling to help you settle into your body and connect with your inner voice (no pressure to share anything). From there, you’ll browse through words and phrases that stand out to you — letting intuition guide what feels meaningful or supportive in this moment.
Those “found words” will become your personal poem. Then you’ll translate that poem into a mixed-media collage on canvas or in a new art journal (all materials provided), creating a tangible reminder of your self-compassion practice.
We’ll close with an optional sharing circle where you can read your poem or show your artwork if you’d like — or simply witness others. This is a gentle, judgment-free space for authentic expression. No fixing, no comparing, no pressure to perform.
No prior art or poetry experience is needed. This workshop is about showing up as you are and practicing self-kindness in a creative, embodied way.
Come as you are. Leave with a poem that holds you with a little more care than when you arrived.
