Kendall Dumit
Counseling Associate Intern
Hi! My name is Kendall.
I’m a Master’s degree level counseling psychology intern currently completing my clinical training. As an intern, I work under the supervision of a licensed clinician and am committed to ongoing learning and growth as a therapist.
I believe that coming to therapy takes courage. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for a space to better understand yourself, you don’t have to navigate it alone. My goal is to create a warm and supportive environment where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a collaborative and supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are. My approach is compassionate, relational, and tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. I draw from evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic therapy, art-based techniques, person-centered therapy, and practical coping skills to support healing in ways that feel meaningful and accessible to you.
I’m especially passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and transitions while learning to better understand and work with anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and depression. I also recognize how deeply the nervous system impacts emotional well-being, and I strive to create a space where both mind and body are welcomed into the healing process. For clients who desire it, I’m also happy to incorporate faith-based support into our work together.
I value authenticity, curiosity, and the therapeutic relationship as key parts of the healing process. I see my role as a supportive guide: I’m someone who listens deeply, asks thoughtful questions, encourages you to trust the process, and walks alongside you as you explore what feels most important in your life.
A Little About Me Beyond the Therapy Room
I stay connected by spending time with my fiance, family, friends, and two cats, Charlie and Ollie. In my free time, I enjoy reading romance and mystery novels, watching TV wrapped up in a cozy blanket, and moving my body by walking in nature and taking spin classes at CycleBar.
I am currently accepting new clients on Mondays and Fridays. If you feel like I am a good fit for you, please reach out or schedule a free consultation to get started!
