Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a powerful, body-based therapy that helps access and process experiences that may be stored beyond our conscious awareness. It is based on the understanding that where we look can influence how we feel, and that certain eye positions can help us access deeper emotional material.

During a Brainspotting session, we work together to identify a “brainspot”—a specific eye position that connects to an area of emotional activation in the brain and body. By gently focusing on this spot, the brain is able to process and release unresolved experiences at its own pace.

This approach can be especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm, particularly when traditional talk therapy feels limited or when it is difficult to put experiences into words. Brainspotting allows the body and brain to do the work in a way that often feels more natural, focused, and deeply effective.

At HeARTS for Hope Therapy, we have therapists that integrate Brainspotting with other body-based trauma therapy methods to best support your healing.
