Fall Community Writers’ Workshop Series
What might happen if you gave yourself a regular time and place to write?
You might finally begin the story that’s been living in your head. You might reconnect with a part of yourself you haven’t heard from in a while. You might fill a few pages, surprise yourself, get unstuck, or simply remember how good it feels to create.
The Fall Community Writers’ Workshop is an invitation to make space for exactly that: six weeks of dedicated writing time, creative exploration, community, and gentle accountability.
Because a writing practice begins with making space for it.
Having a place to show up each week (and a community showing up alongside you) creates a supportive rhythm for your creative practice. Think of it as an accountability container for your writing: a recurring space on the calendar to put distractions aside, settle in, and give your ideas, intuition, and the time and attention they deserve.
Or maybe your writing looks a little different. You might use the time to brain-dump, mind-map, organize your thoughts, explore an idea, plan a project, reflect on a question, or follow a thread of curiosity wherever it leads.
Your time on the page doesn’t have to result in something polished, or even something you plan to share. Sometimes writing is about creating something. Sometimes it’s about making sense of something. And sometimes it’s simply about giving your thoughts, insights, and curiosities somewhere to land.
And if the blank page feels a little intimidating, you won’t have to figure out where to begin on your own. A variety of optional writing prompts will be available each week to help spark reflection, imagination, and curiosity. Follow a prompt, bring your own project, or simply see where the page takes you.
Whatever brings you to the page, this is dedicated time to explore what’s there.
This workshop series is a supportive space to show up, learn, experiment, and write. There’s no pressure to produce something “good.” The practice is in giving yourself the space to show up for your writing.
What to Expect
Each 90-minute gathering will include 30 minutes of instruction and creative exploration, drawing inspiration from The Artist’s Way and other resources related to creativity and the writing process.
Then we’ll spend 60 uninterrupted minutes writing together.
Bring something you’re already working on, or come without a plan and discover where your writing takes you.
There’s something powerful about setting aside distractions and creating in the company of others. You’ll have space for your own individual writing while also experiencing the shared energy, encouragement, and accountability that comes from creating in community.
This Workshop Might Be for You If You Want To:
Develop (or return to) a regular writing practice
Finally explore that journaling practice you’ve been meaning to start
Use writing as a space for reflection, curiosity, and self-exploration
Explore poetry, short stories, or a larger writing project

Move through creative blocks or perfectionism
Learn more about creativity and the writing process
Have dedicated, distraction-free time to write

A Note About Attendance
Each 90-minute gathering is intentionally designed to include both creative exploration and uninterrupted writing time. We encourage participants to attend the full session whenever possible so you can settle into your writing, connect with the group, and experience the creative momentum that builds when we write together.
We understand that life happens, though, and occasional late arrivals or early departures are absolutely okay.
What to Bring
Bring a journal, notebook, laptop, or whatever you most enjoy writing with.
Need a journal? We’ve got you covered. Journals will be available for participants who need one.
A Community Creative Workshop
This is a community-based creative writing workshop, not a therapy group or mental health treatment. The focus is on creativity, writing practice, and connection through shared creative space.
You don’t need to arrive with a finished idea.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want to write.
You don’t even need to call yourself a writer.
Bring your curiosity. Bring whatever wants to be written.
