The Weight of the World: Emotional Processing Youth Art Therapy Group

  • HeARTS for Hope Therapy 15 Wellington Avenue, Suite C Greenville, SC, 29609 United States (map)

The news can feel unbearably heavy, especially for young people who are carrying the “weight of the world” on their shoulders.

This special art therapy and emotional processing group is being offered as a crisis response support space—a safe place to gather with peers, express feelings through art, and find healthy ways to process fear, sadness, and overwhelm.

Through guided art therapy activities and supportive discussion, participants will:

    •    Explore and express the emotions they may be holding inside.

    •    Find grounding and coping tools to bring a sense of calm and stability.

    •    Connect with peers who are navigating similar feelings.

    •    Experience artmaking as a safe outlet for release, reflection, and resilience.

No art experience is needed—just a willingness to show up and be supported.

Our intention is to create a space of care, compassion, and creative release, where no one has to carry the weight of the world alone.

This group is facilitated by Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist, Jaclyn Lenz, LPC/S, ATR-BC
