Mala Making Workshop

  • HeARTS for Hope Therapy 15 Wellington Avenue Greenville, SC, 29609 United States (map)

A Mala is a string of 108 beads traditionally used during meditation to count prayers, recite mantras, affirmations, or intentions. Join us for this hands-on workshop where you’ll be guided through a heart-centered meditation that may inspire your creativity.

Set a personally meaningful intention or mantra to be integrated into your Mala necklace as you tie on each bead, with step-by step instruction on how to tie the knots.

This three-hour workshop is held at HeARTS for Hope Therapy and facilitated by Courtney Chandler. This workshop is for anyone brand new to Mala Making or those with previous experience. Everyone is welcome!

What to expect:

  • A talk about the meaning and history of malas and the significance of number 108

  • Meditation to set your intention, before selecting your crystal beads

  • Design and make your own mala to keep.

    • Crystal beads, seed beads, thread and material to make a tassel all provided
