Meet Jody Greene

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

"The body heals with play, the mind heals with laughter and the spirit heals with joy"

- Proverb

Hello! My name is Jody. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have provided individual and group therapy in a variety of settings, from outpatient services to residential treatment, from group homes for foster children to alternative placements for adolescents placed through the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Most of my work experience has focused on treating trauma / PTSD, and accompanied symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, etc. I am certified in TF-CBT and EMDR, as well as Motivational Interviewing and enjoy using Expressive Art Therapies and other creative means to enhance treatment models.

When impacted by trauma, we often find ourselves living a life that doesn’t feel like our own. We have thoughts, feelings and behaviors we don’t understand or feel like are not supportive of our health and well-being.

Therapy can be a helpful way to start to understand these thoughts, feelings and behaviors and where they originated from. By exploring and processing through past experiences we get a better sense of ourselves and can start to make decisions that support our goals, our well-being and our important relationships

By engaging in the therapeutic process, you have the opportunity to take your life back and create the life you want or feel like you were meant to have.

As you or your child’s therapist, I see my role as the supporter, the cheerleader, the navigator, the gentle-nudger, the compassionate listener and as the one who will remind you of laughter and joy.

More about Jody…

Born and raised in The Netherlands, I first “stumbled upon” Social Work at the University of Rotterdam in The Netherlands. Once I had been introduced to the field of Social Work, I knew immediately that this was my calling. Over the course of 10 years, I obtained a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Social Work, with an additional focus on child abuse as well as addiction. I am also a Licensed Addictions Counselor.

When I am not in my role as therapist, I run behind two very active boys and one very rowdy puppy. My self-care consists of creating art, reading, meditation, all things nature, and working out. In a post-pandemic world, I hope to continue my passion for traveling and seeing the world through different cultures and customs.

If you feel like I am good fit for you or your child, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I am here, when you are ready.

I am currently accepting new clients for in-person (or telehealth) sessions on Fridays!
